A freak lightning storm rolls into Saltpoint on the last day of school. When the wind bends toward Mike McNulty and only him, he starts to wonder if something extraordinary — or something dangerous — has just found him.
Mike slips out past midnight and discovers the harbor lit by something that has no business glowing. His older neighbor Mrs. Calloway knows more than she lets on.
A dense fog rolls in on a perfectly clear day and refuses to lift. Inside it, Mike hears a voice calling his full name — all three syllables — in a tone that is not quite human.
A low tide exposes a section of the Saltpoint coast that old-timers swear has never been above water. Buried there: three iron rings and a door that leads somewhere the maps don't show.
The amulet Mike found in the old lighthouse begins to glow at high tide. He shows it to exactly one person — and by morning, the wrong people know about it.
Mike tries to use his ability deliberately for the first time. It works. It also brings a storm that wasn't supposed to happen — and a stranger who arrived with it.
An old nautical chart in Mrs. Calloway's attic shows Saltpoint exactly as it is today — dated 1887. Every building, every street, every name, except one: the McNulty house is labeled 'The Anchor.'
Mike and his best friend Priya take a shortcut through the nature preserve and end up somewhere an hour's walk couldn't possibly reach. Not all doors need handles.
The season finale. Every storm, every whisper, every secret that Saltpoint has been keeping converges in a single night — and the town will never quite be the same.
